There were 167 terror attacks against Israeli targets in November, according to the monthly review released on Thursday by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet, Shabak General Security Service). That compares with 136 in October, an increase of almost 23 percent. Two stabbings, one resulting in the death of an Israeli soldier, took place within the 1949 Armistice Line.
The biggest increase was in Jerusalem, with 53, compared to 32 in October - a 66-percent increase - including the wounding of a two-year-old baby by stone throwers in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood a week ago, although there were 47 firebombings. Two people were wounded in a firebombing in the eastern part of the Gush Etzion bloc of Yehudah (Judean) Jewish communities, one of 107attacks in Yehudah and Shomron (Judea and Samaria), up from 99. Five mortar shells were launched from Gaza, compared to three rockets and two mortar shells in October.
