Secretary of State John Kerry of the United States delivered a grim warning to Israel on Thursday that failure to make peace with the Palestinian Authority could trigger a new Arab uprising. He said, in a joint interview with Israel's Channel 2 and the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation, "The alternative to getting back to the talks is the potential of chaos." The top US diplomat asked, "I mean, does Israel want a third intifada?" using the Arabic word for uprising.
