It was announced, Thursday, that customs inspectors in Ashdod seized 14,000 weapons and other items that are banned for import to Israel, Wednesday evening. The contraband, declared as jewelry, wallets, hair accessories and other items, was in a container from a supplier in China.

The shipment was allegedly imported by a 27-year-old Arab from Hevron who, along with other members of his family in the import business, have been charged with customs and intellectual-property violations in the past.
