French Intelligence: Syria Used and Will Use Sarin Gas

At least 281 of the hundreds of deaths attributed to chemical weapons, late last month in the suburbs of Damascus, can be linked to a Syrian government attack on rebel strongholds, according to a French intelligence report, presented to French lawmakers and posted on the French government website, Monday evening. The report said, "An analysis of the intelligence in our possession leads us to estimate that on the 21st of August, the Syrian regime launched an attack on areas of Damascus suburbs held by rebels, using a combination of conventional weapons and massive use of chemical agents."

The report, based on dozens of video clips shot in the field, says that sarin gas was used in the attacks, as well as April attacks in the cities of Jubar and Saraqeb. It concludes, "The Syrian regime crossed the line deliberately and according to information we have, one may believe that other actions of the same kind may be made again."
