The schedule for the annual Tisha B'Av march around the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem has been release. The march has become a well-known modern feature of the Jewish day of mourning and replicates traditional marches in days past. This year newly elected Deputy Religious Affairs Minister MK Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan will speak, as well as long time supporter MK Danny Danon, now Deputy Defense Minister. Dr. Arieh Eldad, while no longer in office, will participate as usual in the march and speak. Arieh King of the United Jerusalem Party will once again be on hand as well. The speakers will address the crowd at the historic Lion's Gate.
The ceremony will begin with the reading of the Biblical Book of Lamentations at Independence ark at 10:30PM and then commence walking at 11:30PM on Monday July 15th. The program is sponsored by the EWomen for Israel's Tomorrow, known colloquially as the Women in Green. Tisha B'Av is a fast day commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Holy temples and other national tragedies.
