The imminent government implementation of the Open Skies agreement with the EU will include additional weekly flights to Europe, and access to Israel for all European airlines from all European destinations. The consequence of the agreement will be significant reduction of airline rates and the employees of the three Israeli airlines El Al, Arkia and Israir, are assembling to act against against the implementation which, they say "Will lead to the dismissal of tens of thousands of employees and the bankruptcy of the airlines."
Employees of the three airlines have called a general strike starting Sunday.
