MK Hasson: We're Not 'In' Without Agreement on Service

Member of Knesset Yisrael Hasson (Kadima) said, Friday, that the Kadima, Habayit Hayehudi and Yesh Atid parties will not enter the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu if no agreement is reached on the principle of equal burden of service, a term used to mean increased hareidi-religious participation in national service. Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, Hasson said that Kadima was not "in Netanyahu's back pocket" and will not be a partner in a coalition that does not regulate the issue.

Regarding Thursday's meeting between party chairmen Shaul Mofaz, Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, Hasson said, "There is a common interest that we agree to and that's why there were discussions yesterday. The meeting was designed to coordinate a line on which we will not compromise - and we don't intend to compromise. "
