An F-16 "Barak" fighter aircraft crashed just a short while ago while landing at the Ramat David Air Force base in northern Israel.
The two-person air crew abandoned the aircraft on the runway as they were landing. Both sustained no injuries but were taken for medical examinations.
Initial reports show that the crew decided to abandon the aircraft due to a technical problem. Air Force chief Major-General Amir Eshel said a commission would be established tasked with figuring out what went wrong and suspended training on the "Barak" aircraft.
