Rabbi Indicted in Torah Scroll Theft

A rabbi from southern Israel is accused of having stolen Torah scrolls and sold them. Rabbi Yehuda Rosilio was indicted Tuesday for taking the scrolls from a synagogue in Moshav Brosh and selling them for hundreds of thousands of shekels. He allegedly told the buyers that he had written the scroll for them.

He faces a total of six charges, including fraud, breach of trust, and affront to religion.
