Third of Ramat Gan Safari's Original Rhinos Passes Away

Tziona, one of four rhinoceroses brought, in 1971, to the Safari park in Ramat Gan, died, Sunday, at the age of 43. Generally, a rhinoceros lives to the age of 35 to 40. Two of the three other rhinos imported from Africa by Ramat Gan's second mayor, Yisrael Peled, died during the past year. A rhinoceros named Mazal is the lone survivor of the quartet. There are eight other rhinos in the park.

Tziona's horn, whose value could reach millions of dollars, will be put in a safe and will probably be donated to a museum.
