An Israeli woman who moved to Canada with her family as a teenager has been jailed for draft dodging, Maariv/nrg reports. Yana Gurlik, 30, was stopped at the border when she arrived in Israel for a cousin’s wedding and told to go to an IDF base to arrange her official release from military service.

However, when she arrived at the base she was detained, and ultimately jailed. Gurlik was released Wednesday, Maariv noted, but not until after her cousin’s wedding.
