      Dollar outpaces Pound, Yen, Euro


      The official value of the shekel declined an average of .343 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 4.043, up .347 percent, while the Euro rose .307 percent to 5.0697 shekels.

      The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.4017, up .334 percent, and 100 Japanese yen rose .316 percent to 5.1418 shekels. The South African rand declined .314 percent to .4769 shekels and the Norwegian Krone jumped 1.104 percent to NIS .6957
