Two residents of Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem, were arrested before dawn, Tuesday, on suspicion of trying to steal bones from a Beit Shemesh archaeological site about a month ago, after they suspected the bones were remains of a Jew. Jerusalem District investigators were assisted by the Israel Antiquities Authority.
One of the suspects is scheduled for a remand hearing, Tuesday afternoon, in the Jerusalem Magistrates Court. The other will be released under restrictive conditions.
