Morsi to Discuss Changing Camp David Accords

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is scheduled to discuss making changes to the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt according to the president's legal adviser, as reported by Egyptian media. Egypt now wants full sovereignty over the region. According to the Camp David Accords which were signed in the late 1970s, the Sinai region is to be demilitarized. Last week Israel allowed Egypt to temporarily station tanks in the region in order to stop the increasing terrorist attacks. Israel's Menachem Begin relinquished the Sinai to Egypt's Anwar Sadat in exchange for the promise of cessation of belligerency and normalized relations between the two nations.
