Police Plan to Charge TA Protest Detainees Immediately

Police intend to charge all 85 detainees arrested Saturday night at the social justice protest in Tel Aviv as soon as possible, a police official said. The detainees will be charged with violently resisting arrest, rioting, and illegal assembly, among others.

Steev Shapir, one of the leaders of the protest, said that it was the police who had acted violently, apparently fulfilling a government policy to delegitimize the social protest movement.
