The Israeli killed in Monday morning's attack on Nitzana, on the Egyptian border, was 36-year-old Said Fashfasha of Haifa, according to the HNN Website. He was killed when the vehicle he was driving overturned following fire by terrorists who crossed the border, near the Philadelphi patrol route on the Gaza-Egyptian border. A bullet was found in his upper body.
Golani soldiers who responded to the attack spotted the terrorists and fired at them detonating an explosive device on the body of one of the terrorists. The soldiers found the bodies of two terrorists, and were searching the area, early Monday afternoon, to see if a third terrorist had been killed or escaped to Egyptian territory. Spokesman Yoav Mordechai of the Israel Defense Forces said soldiers also found Kaleshnikov automatic rifles, grenades, helmets and camouflage uniforms, apparently not of the Egyptian army.
