Speaking Monday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that “although the High Court's decision on the Ulpana neighborhood is difficult to accept, we are a nation of laws that encourages settlement. There is no contradiction between the two things.
“I met with several families from the Ulpana neighborhood,” Netanyahu said. “They are wonderful people, officers in the IDF, teachers, and a little girl named Ahava. Passing the Regulation Law would have achieved the opposite of its intended effect – in the end, the neighborhood would have been evacuated, and the cause of Jewish settlement would have been damaged. We are bringing solutions to encourage settlement,” he added.
