Tel Aviv Stocks Up in Mixed Trading

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed out the trading week, Thursday, with modest gains in mixed trading. The TA Composite index rose .51 percent to 961.83, while the TA 100 finished the day at 970.91, up .56 percent, including a .55 percent increase to 1,050.92 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.

Leading the gainers were the oil and natural gas stocks, which rose 1.67 percent to 1.158,44, followed by most of the technology index, which rose 1.23 percent to 334.36, while the biomed issues declined .73 percent to 730.05 and the communications and media stocks closed at 443.15, up .83 percent. The real estate index slipped .06 percent to 274.86 and the insurance issues finished the day at 960.01, down .33 percent as the financial issues declined .81 percent to 834.58, including a 1.57 percent fall to 885.12 by the bank stocks.
