The Knesset Education and Welfare Committee will hold a special meeting next week to discuss recent instances of violence. A Rehovot teenager was killed in a local park Saturday night, after allegedly fighting with a group of teens. On Friday night, a Be'ersheva man was stabbed to death by a group of teenagers after he complained about the noise they were making.
MK Alex Miller (Yisrael Beiteinu), chairman of the Committee, said that “the latest round of violence requires us to to investigate how we reached this point, in which disputes are resolved with knives. All of us have the responsibility to investigate the system, including education for tolerance. In some cases, punishments may have to be meted out. These events are an emergency call to investigate and repair the system,” Miller said.
