The Special Court for Sierra Leone convicted former Liberian President Charles Taylor, Thursday, of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Taylor is the first head of state convicted by a court since the Nuremberg trials at the end of the Second World War, which convicted senior Nazi officials following the suicide of German leader Adolf Hitler.
