      Jordanian Prime Minister Resigns Suddenly


      Jordan state media announced, Thursday, that King Abdullah II had accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Awn Al-Khasawneh, about six months after Al-Khasawneh assumed the post. No reason was given for the reformist's resignation, although a minister who declined to be identified told Reuters that Al-Khasawneh made the move while on a visit to Turkey following the extension of a parliamentary session in which he was expected to come under fire.

      Sources at the royal palace have told Al-Arabiya that former premier Fayez al-Tarawneh has been asked to form a new government.
