A drive to find potential bone marrow donors is being held Tuesday by the Maavak L’Chaim (Fight for Life) organization. The group hopes to find a donor for 5-year-old Aviel Bakman, who suffers from Fanconi anemia, a rare disease likely to cause blood cancer if a donor is not found soon.
Would-be donors provided saliva samples at 34 stands at malls across the country. The stands will remain open until 8 p.m.
