The population of Jerusalem is expected to hit one million by the end of 2012, according to Maariv/nrg. As of December 2011, the city was home to 933,113 people, 81,891 more than the year before.
The population figures include Arab residents of eastern Jerusalem who hold residency cards but are not Israeli citizens. It does not include nearby towns such as Aminadav and Givat Zev.
