Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem said, Thursday evening, "Wewill not surrenderto terrorism, even whenwelick our wounds." Speaking at a memorial observance for eight students murdered by a terrorist at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva, he continued, "Mercaz Haravin Jerusalemisa symbolofvaluesand sacrifice, a symbolandmodel forthe nation of IsraelandJerusalem.Together we will continueto raisethe flag.May the memory ofthe fallen be blessed."
The mayor also said, "The Mercaz HaravYeshiva expanded. Jerusalem issovereignand more powerful, andIsrael givessanityto our region."
