Arutz Sheva has received a report that the city of Jerusalem is about to file charges against Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovich of the Western Wall and Holy Places in his capacity as chairman of the Western Wall Heritage Fund. The charges stem from the fund's failure to respond to a demand made a month ago by City Engineer Shlomo Eshkol to dismantle the wooden ramp from the Western Wall Plaza to the Rambam (Mughrabi) Gate to the Temple Mount and replace it with a ramp made of non-flammable materials within 30 days. Eshkol noted that permission was granted in May to build a new bridge.
A letter to Rabbi Rabinovich threatens a 3,200-shekel fine, plus an additional 150 shekels a day until the fund complies. Both the city and the rabbi declined comment.
