Activists Launch Campaign for Free Kurdistan

The Semitic Action movement announced Wednesday morning that it is launching an informational campaign for a free Kurdistan, aiming to generate public support for Israel's government to actively help Kurdish activists in their struggle to achieve national independence.

"As Zionists who believe in national liberation for the Jewish people," said a statement from the group. "We must also fight for the liberation of other indigenous peoples fighting for their freedom."

"Although there currently exists a semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq, most of Kurdistan is still occupied by the governments of Turkey, Syria and Iran. And even the semi-autonomous Kurdish region that exists is being prevented by the Americans from declaring full independendce... As Zionists we feel a moral obligation to participate in the struggle for a free Kurdistan and to pressure our government to do the same."
