33 people have been confirmed dead after the Cairo Tahrir square rioting. Some 500 demonstrators were injured.
The High Council of the army in Egypt convened for an emergency session after the rioting. Egyptian Minister of Culture Imad Abu-Razi resigned in protest over the excessive force used against demonstrators Sunday.
