A law to change the makeup of the committee that recommends candidates for the High Court passed its first reading in the Knesset Monday night. Fifty MKs voted in favor, and 35 voted against.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak both left the Knesset plenum before the vote took place.
