In remarks opening the winter session of the Knesset, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that Israel needed to be proactive in its security. “We cannot rely on defense alone. We must also engage when necessary in offensive actions when it helps advance our security.
“There are two principles involved here,” Netanyahu continued. “One who rises to kill you, you must kill, and those who try to harm us take responsibility for their fate. For 2,000 years our people could not fulfill these two principles, but thanks to the establishment of the State of Israel and the IDF, this has changed,” he added.
