The heads of the Hesder yeshivas, which combine military service with Torah study, expressed support, Sunday evening, for the rabbinate of the Israel Defense Forces. The declaration came following a meeting between the rabbis and Chief IDF Rabbi Rafi Peretz.
Rabbi Chaim Druckmann, who serves on the directorate of the Hesder Yeshiva Union, cited the rabbinate under Peretz with a number of achievements in a variety of fields connected with integrating halakha (Jewish law) in the military and dealing with sensitive subject in the IDF.
