In a last ditch attempt to persuade PA chief Mahmoud Abbas not to seek UN recognition of an Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, the United States is sending two negotiators to attempt to convince Abbas to return to negotiations with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. The two, Dennis Ross and David Hale, will propose a “new framework” for the talks, Israel Radio reported.

The report added that the diplomats will likely suggest to Abbas that negotiations be based on President Barack H. Obama's plan of forcing Israel to return to the 1948 armistice borders, with “slight changes.”
