Jerusalem police decided, Monday morning, to maintain it highest state of preparedness that started on Sunday. The decision followed an appraisal of the situation. The initial alert was based on a concrete warning of an imminent terror attack. The Shabak Israel Security Agency and other forces set out in search of a terror cell. Inspections of cars led to congestion at the Hizme crossing and on the way to Ma'aleh Adumim, east of the capital. The Pisgat Ze'ev shopping center was evacuated Sunday evening, as police were drawn from other districts.
The rest of the country has been at the next to highest alert stage since the beginning of the weekend because of the attacks originating in Gaza which started on Thursday.
