Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman demanded that Israel cut off all ties with the PA, telling reporters at Sunday's cabinet meeting that the PA was planning a major intifada in September. At a news conference, Lieberman said that the PA was planning “violence and bloodshed such as we have never seen. They are planning this at the same time they are talking about negotiations.”
Lieberman said that among other things, the PA was planning to send tens of thousands of young Arabs to march across the A-ram checkpoint and into Jerusalem, “generating violence like we have never seen, aimed at dragging the international community into the dispute. The PA's plan is to bring IDF soldiers to the International Court in the Hague. This is unacceptable. I plan to demand at the next meeting of the security cabinet a complete break in relations with the PA,” Lieberman added.
