Abdel Fattah Younes, the head of the Libyan rebels’ military campaign against leader Muammar Qaddafi was shot dead by assailants on Thursday, Reuters reported.
Libyan rebel leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil told the news agency that Younes had been killed by assailants after being summoned before a judicial committee that was looking into the military operations.
Jalil added that the head of the armed cell that killed Younes had been arrested, but did not provide any further details.
