The funeral of Rabbi Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz is scheduled to start Tuesday morning at 10:30 at his home on Wilokmirrer Street in Bnei Brak. The procession will proceed from there to the cemetery next to the the Ponevezh Yeshiva, where the rabbi will be laid to rest.
Rabbi Lefkowitz died Monday at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem at the age of 97. He was one of the heads of the Ponevezh Yeshiva and the Yeshiva Letze'irim (yeshiva for younger men), and served on the Council of Torah Sages (Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah) of the hareidi Degel HaTorah party.
