ICC Orders Qaddafi's Arrest
The International Criminal Court in the Hague issued an arrest warrant Monday for Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi. Also to be arrested are two of Qaddafi's top aides - his son Saif al-Islam and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Sanussi.
Sanji Monageng, chief judge on the ICC, said that Qadaffi was wanted for crimes against humanity in his ordering of "widespread and systematic attacks" on civilians in Libya. Qaddafi, he said, "personally ordered attacks on unarmed Libyan civilians and was behind the arrest and torture of his political opponents.”
