Rabbi Yosef Mendelevich, who spent time in Soviet prison as a Prisoner of Zion seeking to move to Israel, called, Sunday, for owners of yachts and other boats to undertake a special flotilla off the Gaza coast on behalf of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, Rabbi Mendelevich asked that a physician who could examine Shalit join the flotilla, along with a Red Cross team. He also asked for a clothes and other supplies, which could be passed along to Shalit with humanitarian aid for Gazans.
Mendelevich said such a flotilla would be easy work under the supervision of Israeli security forces and would reflect the real situation in Gaza, compared to what human rights groups claim.
