Syrian Army Gains Control of Jisr Al-Shughour

The Syrian army, backed by tanks and helicopters, finished taking control of the northwestern city of Jisr Al-Shughour Sunday afternoon, according to Syrian news media.

Residents of the city reportedly escaped over the nearby Turkish border.
