Golan Should be Open for Shavuot Tourists

The Israel Police denied reports on Monday that the Golan Heights will be closed to tourists over the Shavuot holiday because of the tension along the northern border.

Northern District Police Spokesman Yehuda Maman said there was no such intention as far as the police were concerned. He added, "Only if there are violent clashes or disturbances like yesterday, we won't allow tourist access next to these places, such as Majdal Shams and Kuneitra. At the same time, we believe that quiet will return to the area soon."
