President Shimon Peres said Thursday that an anti-ballistic defense system should be established to protect the West from Iran's missiles. A report on Israel Radio quoted Peres as saying that such a system should be established by the U.S., Europe, and countries in the Middle East.

Peres added that Israel and all its neighbors, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, were all in the range of Iranian missiles. Israel has a short range missile defense system, and the U.S. has a longer range one, Peres said, and a medium range defense system needed to be established as well, he added.
