Syrian Caught in Cab in Majdal Shams

A Syrian citizen about 30 years of age was caught Monday morning in a taxi driven by an Israeli Arab from eastern Jerusalem in the Golan Druze town of Majdal Shams. More than 120 violent Arab demonstrators crossed the Israeli border into Majdal Shams on Sunday as part of a hostile Arab protest on the 63rd secular-calendar anniversary of the founding of the modern Jewish state.

Ten of the demonstrators were killed while attacking Israeli security facilities. Most of the rest were returned to Syria peaceably under coordination with the Red Cross. Before they left, security forces blocked access to the town by Israeli Arabs.
