Amram Mitzna, who announced last week that he would be running to head the Labor Party, promised in an election rally in Haifa on Thursday, that if he heads the party, he will not join a Lieberman-Barak style right-wing coalition.

According to a report on Voice of Israel Radio, Mitzna said he plans to establish a center-left party or sit in opposition and rebuild the Labor Party.

Mitzna criticized the sayings that there is no peace partner on the Palestinian side, and said that while Hamas is not an ally or a partner so long as it does not recognize Israel, Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas and PA are partners for peace.
