A new Torah scroll entered the synagogue of the Judean Jewish community of Pnei Kedem Monday evening. Donated by the Ratner family of the United States, whose children are residents of the community, the scroll joined two other Torah scrolls in Pnei Kedem's synagogue.
Following a festive evening service for Independence Day, a festive meal was served in Pnei Kedem's newly dedicated cultural hall. Pnei Kedem is located in the southeastern part of the Gush Etzion bloc of Jewish communities, next to the community of Meitzad. With 32 families, the community is developing and absorbing new residents.
