Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced on Monday that his country will hold talks with major powers in Turkey over its disputed nuclear program.
“I hope that this important issue will reach its final result in the (next) Istanbul talks,” Reuters quoted Ahmadinejad as saying at a news conference in Istanbul. No date was given for the new talks.
Iran’s previous rounds of nuclear talks with major powers in January failed after it refused to halt its uranium enrichment, as demanded by the United Nations Security Council.
