A report in the Yisrael Hayom newspaper Thursday said that a delegation from far-left U.S. group J Street is set to land in Israel on Shabbat, and according to a schedule the group released, the delegation is set to meet with PA chief Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Monday – which is Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The delegation members will lunch with Abbas. Afterwards they will travel to Tel Aviv, where a 7 PM cocktail party for supporters is set to take place in a popular restaurant – still in the midst of Yom Hashoa.

In response, a J Street official said that the cocktail party has been moved to 8 PM. The official said that J Street members would be participating in an official remembrance ceremony at Yad Vashem in commemoration of Yom Hashoa. “We respect the day as any other Jews do,” he said.
