Turkey has announced that it will lift the ban imposed on Kurdish independent candidates that did not allow them to run in the parliamentary elections to be held in June.
The decision to ban Kurdish candidates from the elections, under the excuse that they have a criminal record, sparked violent protests in the Kurdish region in Turkey, which led the country’s election committee to reconsider its decision.
