A senior Palestinian Authority official responded on Wednesday to comments that were made by Minister Uzi Landau during an interview on Voice of Israel Radio, in which he said that the United States will veto a recognition by the UN Security Council of a Palestinian state.
In a conversation with the PA-based Ma’an News Agency, the official said that Israel has become the spokesperson of the U.S. government. He added that the U.S. administration no longer plays a responsible and sincere role in the Israeli-Arab conflict and promised that “an American veto would not be the end of the road” for a Palestinian state.
