The Tuerkel Commission, which is investigating last year's attempt by a Turkish-led flotilla to break the Gaza naval blockade, open new hearings this week to probe whether Israel's investigation of such incidents conforms with international law. Nine flotilla activists were killed after they attacked Israeli commandos who boarded the ship.
Representatives of B'Tselem, which generally supports the rights of Arabs in lands liberated by Israel in 1967, testfied Monday morning. Members of Yesh Din, with a similar agenda, are scheduled to testify Monday afternoon. Israeli security authorities are scheduled to testify Tuesday and Thursday.
