The Psagot winery won a gold medal and a silver medal at the recently-concluded Vinalies competition in Paris. The prestigious gold medal was awarded for its Cabernet Sauvignon and the silver medal was for its Edom wine. Both wines were entered in the "Single Vineyard 2009" category.
The vineyards are located on limestone terraces at altitudes of about 900 meters. After processing, the wine is brought to French and American oak vats in a cave from the Second Temple period which was discovered when the winery was established. The Edom wine is the flagship of the winery. It combines Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties.
