In an interview with Israel Radio Monday, Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas called the terror attack in Itamar “disgusting, shameful, and immoral. A human being could not have done such a thing.” Abbas said that “such things, the murder of infants, children and a woman who was slaughtered, must bring all people to pain and to tears.”
Abbas told Israel Radio that the PA would have intervened to stop the attack “if we had had advance information about it,” and stressed that Israel and the PA were working together to find the murderers of the five members of the Fogel family. He added that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was wrong to have blamed the PA's anti-Israel incitement for the attack. “Today there is no incitement,” he said, adding that he invited Israel and the United States to check PA schoolbooks for evidence of incitement.
